Today’s educators are called upon to respond to the needs of 21st Century learners by understanding their world and unique educational needs. This first course focuses on implementing best practices that use 21st Century teaching techniques to engage and inspire students and to effectively integrate them into all grades and subjects through curriculum development.  Participants will gain an understanding of the behavior and learning styles of millennial students as they explore new tools and approaches in their use as they plan and design appropriate lessons for these learners.  Course One contains 5 modules delivered over 10-weeks (~45 hours to complete).

How to use Bloom’s taxonomy as a basis for teaching millennial students is the context for Course 2 to aid educators in deepening their understanding and the use of project/problem-based learning experiences. Participants will build their confidence and comfort in the use of a specific instructionally focused technology tool as they teach and reflect on its use in their constructivist (6ES) Lesson Plan. Through a collaborative development process, participants will create a project that demonstrates that thoughtful integration develops critical and creative thinking in their students. Course Two contains 5 modules, delivered over 10-weeks and includes the submission of a final media-based project. (~45 hours to complete).

Participants reflect on the practice of teaching millennial students as they apply their newly acquired 21st Century e-Teaching skills in the instructional design of a new teacher training module. Based on the popular Understanding by Design model, participants will work through their professional learning community to develop lessons that reflect the best practices in ADDIE design that effectively integrates technology for other educators professional development. Course Three contains 5 modules , is delivered over 10-weeks and includes submission of a final Mini-module project (~45 hours to complete).

Course 4 consists of 4 modules and a Course Wrap Up. A significant portion of this course involves your creation of an abbreviated 21st Century e-Teacher course that you will facilitate with a group of your peers.

The capstone of the 21st Century e-Teaching Graduate Series, this course leads participants through the process of applying their skills to design and offer their own online 21st Century e-Teaching course.  Participants will discuss and learn best practices in the design and facilitation of online learning.
